This week I treated myself to some close up lenses for my camera so yesterday I was in the garden having a wee play around at snapping almost anything and everything. I still have a awful lot to learn about photography, but I was quite pleased with some of the shots that I had taken.
I have a deep fear of spiders, but could not resist taking a few shots of a spider that has been making its web in my front garden everyday for a few weeks now. But my neighbour, Paul, who knows of my fear thought it would be funny to break the web and freak me out. Shaking with fear I really don't know how I managed to steady the camera to get my shot!!! The poor spider is holding on by a thread and clinging desperatley to its dinner which it had just wrapped up :)
My children and their friends have always called this type of spider a Sugar Puff Spider because of its fat body.
So here is the Sugar Puff Spider that lives in my garden
****WARNING*** if you suffer from aracnophobia go no furthur :)

OMG...that is hugh, lets hope it doesn't come knocking at the door to come into your house when it's raining....hope you are well debbie..x
Ummmm....great shots but am not loving the subject...LOL!
I'm certainly not a spider lover, been trying to overcome it so that i don't frighten the kids and actually took some similar to this in the garden a few weeks back....not nearly as crisp as yours though....well done. x
Love the pics. In our house I have to take care of shooing spiders away as DH is the one scared of them.
They're amazing photos but I'm afraid you're much braver than me getting that close!!
Those a marvelous shots. Spiders are so facinating and that one has really cool markings. I like spiders - except the black widows that hide around outside my house and in the garden. One bit me on the hand when I put my garden glove on a couple years ago. Guess it resented me disturbing it. Brave you for getting so close.
stunning shots! love your sps too :D
Great photo and love those stamps =0)
