Filligree

Wednesdays word on HS:MS was Filligree, as soon as I read that I knew what I was going to photograph. It was a necklace that was made of wire twisted into sprirals and put together in a kind of bell shape with more spirals dangling from the bottom......do you think I could find my necklace? NO..........then I remembered I had never worn this necklace for about 20 years so I had sold it last year on Ebay.
So the hunt was on for a subject for my filligree photo, I hunted high and low and couldn't find anything. So my daughter gave me one of her necklaces......not really filligree so I've cheated a wee bit on this one!!!

Her Space : My Space

Thanks to Sharon at her Fairy Dust Bag Blog and Willow Designs Forum I have become interested in Her Space : My Space . I'm always up for a challenge and even though there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for me to fit everything in i am going to give it a try. The prompt today is
Berry
A small fruit with a stone or seeds. Show us a berry in your space today.

So here goes with my first photo, and I'm looking forward to tomorrows word.

Really enjoyed eating all the strawberries after taking my photos...yum yum... they were so juicy.....

Yesterday...didn't have time to blog last night

Yesterday was wet, windy and cold so it was a stay indoors day. OMG!!! I hadn't made a Fathers Day Card for my father-in-law (trust me to leave it to the last minute), so I spent the afternoon crafting. I rustled up a card using a free download from Crafts Beautiful magazine, I had bought the magazine but just didn't want to cut into my free gift....it is safely tucked away in my craft stash (how sad am I). I had to resize the graphics on my computer to get the look I wanted......most probably shouldn't of done that and will get a slap on the wrist, copyright and all that :-) ...It was just a one off, honest!! LOL.
When my grandson was born almost 2 years ago, I had bought a photo album to keep his photos in. As this had just quite thick paper pages in it, I started to decorate them and add wee poems etc. I suppose this was my first attempt at doing something like a scrap book. Below is one of my favourite pages, my son, Chris looking so proud holding his new baby son.

He was just 19yrs old when Kian was born and I am so proud of him as he had also taken on his girlfirends 3 little daughters. An instant family....so I have 4 grandchildren. So yesterday I added 2 pages to Kians Book.....his sisters.... Courtney, Chelsi and Chloe. I used bits and bobs that I had forgot I had in my craft stash, printed sisters on the computer and cut round the letters and then punched some hearts from patterned paper.....quite a simple layout.............

I have now well and truelly got the Scrapbooking bug and have got a 'real' scrapbook with loose pages....LOL, so will be trying my hand at some more adventurous layouts.

The 4 men in my life....

While going through my computer tidying up, I came across this photo of my husband, oldest son and grandson. Three generations, who had all just had the electric razor over their heads. Not by myself I might add, it was all my sons doing. A bunch of baldies!!!

My son being the individual and trend setting person that he is decided to leave a stripe of hair on his head. He does have more hair now, but one half is brown and the other bleached blonde. He just likes to be different. My grandson also now has a full head of beautiful natual blonde hair.

I know the title says 4 men and there is only three in this photo............but I couldn't leave my other son out so here he is.......... This photo was taken just over a week ago and my lovely grandson is in this too with his blonde hair. I am so proud of all my men and my daughter too, who's photo will be added on another day.

Just one card...........

I haven't managed much crafting this weekend as the weather has been so great, there was gardening that had to be done. Once I was out there working I realised just how much I have negleted my garden, but thats me got the bug again so it won't be long until I have it just how I like it again.

The one bit of crafting that I did do was an engagement card for my daughter to give to her friend. This was my first attempt at using my computer printer to print onto shrink plastic, (ink takes a long time to dry) I also stamped small hearts as a border on it and once it was shrunk it was clear embossed. I stamped a background of hearts and added some torn vellum, this was then mounted on to purple glitter card. I made a tag and stamped it with 'Love definition', this was a free stamp from Craft Stamper magazine.

up and running

At last I have got my blog up and running, but now I'm lost for words.....I can't think of anything to say!!!

I have spent any spare time over the last few days messing around with computer graphics to make my title for the blog. This has been great fun, as I haven't done any web graphics for a while..............had a memory block and had to ask my son, Sean, how to do something, and he even showed me a new way of doing it. It comes in handy having a son that is so into his graphics and his media studies.

So hopefully I will be adding my mad ramblings about anything crafty that I have done and there will be many photos added. To start with here are a few ATC's I've made over the last couple of months......to feed my addiction!!!
