The puppies are here.....

Fearne decided to go into labout last Friday (11th April) and I was thinking for once she was going to have her pups during the day. Fearne had other ideas though....... she hung on to her pups until just after 1am when she gave birth to the first wee bundle ............. I sat with her all night while she delivered pup after pup until the last one, puppy number 6, was born just after 7am. I was shattered, but Fearne was totally exhausted, she fed her pups and we both managed to get about an hours sleep before the rest of the household woke up.

Heres a few photos of the pups on their first day

Fearne had 4 bitches and 2 dog pups, sadly on Sunday morning one of the dog pups died. This was my first puppy death and it was such a shock to find a poor wee dead pup. I had a wee puppy funeral in my garden.
I will be updating my dogs website very soon and adding a new puppy diary with photos, videos and updates on the pups progress.
I'm back at work now and my holiday week just flew by so quickly. So it is back to normal, working in the morning and then doing whatever else needs done when I get home. I'v a couple of websites to update and the wedding stationery I've been asked to do. I will add photos of the wedding stationery when it is all complete. I've also got to find time to get some ATC's done for this months swaps.......
I'm still keeping to my Scottish Slimmers eating plan and so far I've lost 9.5 lbs which I am quite pleased with.
There's still no sign of my 2nd grandson being born yet, he is over a week late now, so it could be anytime soon. Hopefully the next time I blog I will have a new grandson
bye for noo

Memories

Lynard Skynard's Freebird............our song.....not everybodys cup of tea, but it has stayed with us for 25 years
To celebrate our anniversary (as we're not big on parties and a lot of fuss) we went for a quite meal at the pub where we first met over 27 years ago. The Elizabeathen has changed a wee bit since then. When we used to go most weekends, there was a disco.....now I use that term loosely...... as this was no normal seventies disco, playing Abba and The Bee Gees etc. the main music played was hard rock and heavy metal so we could all have a great head bangin' time. The main drink of the time was Snakebites (larger and cider) drank by the pint. Just the thought of a pint of Snakebite makes me feel sick noo.
My present (which was not expected) from my OH was a beautiful new gold and diamond ring...he even got the size right! woo hoo :-)
OH loved his anniversary card and we had quite a laugh at how we looked way back in 1983 on our wedding day. He had his long hair cut and my hair which was usually long and crimped was cut and flicked back in true 80's style. I had made my wedding dress and 3 bridesmaid dresses for the grand sum of £100. My auntie (who was a florist) made all my flower arrangements (silk flowers) as a wedding pressie and she also helped with my make-up. My mum spent weeks making and icing our 3 teir wedding cake. My oldest brother (year younger than me) took all our wedding photos and my youngest brother (10 years younger than me) was the only one to cry through the registry office ceramony. Our wedding reception was at The Castleton (now called The Music Bar), my parents and OH parents paid for meal and evening buffet, we had a disco and .... now please don't laugh! .. a singer/accordian player. Honeymoon ........ one night spent at King Malcolm Hotel (pressie from OH parents) ...... what a laugh that was! we ended up in a room with single beds and the people in room next door kept bangin' on the wall cause of the noise in our room ............ not what your thinking ..... we were drinking champagne and eating pieces (sandwiches) and watching Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on The Old Grey Whistle Test on the telly!!!! :-) Those were the days :-)

The card is made..........

Still not feeling overly creative, but managed to get a Silver Wedding Anniversary card made for my husband. So it is all sealed in it's envelope ready to give him tomorrow morning before he goes to work. I wish he didn't start at 6am, never mind I'm on holiday so I can snuggle back up under the quilt for a wee while longer.

This is what I came up with, I can put it up today 'cause he never looks at my blog. I don't think he would know how to find it :)

Where have all the days gone?

Days and even months have past since my last blog...........I'm such a bad blogger LOL, just not organised at all..............never enough time to fit everything into my days.
This week is going to be no different, even though I am on holiday from work for a whole week. yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

This week is going to packed full of excitement (well I'm hoping anyway). First off it is my 25th wedding anniversary.......OMG 25 years with the same grumpy git of a man, how have I survived? Looking forward to going out for dinner, keeping my fingers crossed it's not Pizza Hut

Secondly my 2nd grandson is due to be born, why now a days must they find out the sex of their baby before it is born? and what if they get it wrong? I prefer not to know so I get a surprise when the baby is born, I love surprises :)

Thirdly or last, Fearne, my border collie is due a litter of pups. Now I will get a surprise when they are born, cause I don't know how many or what sexes these babies will be.

I was going to do some decorating while I was on holiday, but that daft notion has wore off, I can do that another time :)

I haven't lifted my camera for a long time and have fell way behind with HS:MS photo prompts, hopefull will join in again soon. I have done quite a bit of crafting, but photos of that will have to go on another post soon.
I have been asked to make wedding invitations and Order of Service for my friends sons wedding (my very first large order and a big responibility). The bride has chosen what she would like, and most of the supplies have arrived from the wholesaler. So I am going to be busy getting these done and I will place photos on my blog in the future.
Yesterday was spent in the garden as the sun was shining, even though there was an icey wind. Planted some strawberries and herbs, and now have three small tomato plant on my kitchen window sill waiting for the weather to warm up a bit more. I won't be out in the garden today though...................it is freezing and we woke up this morning to snow, which has all disappeared now. The frogs and toads in my pond will be wondering what is happening with the weather, they were all swimming and mating in the glorious sunshine on Friday. Clumps of spawn are starting to appear in the pond, so we can look forward to some tadpoles again this year.

Well I think thats enough of my gibbering, I've a roast dinner to cook and an anniversary card to make for my OH .........I know! I've left it to the last minute, but thats me...............I keep telling myself I work better under pressure..............and do I?.............well sometimes............but today I just don't feel very creative..................but that could change once I get my paper and glue out.

Just one last thing before I go................... noticing that I was getting rather plump and my clothes were getting tighter and having to buy larger sizes..................I decided it was time for action.....I have joined Scottish Slimmers (the first time I have ever joined a slimming class in my life) and I am chuffed to bits that in 3 weeks I have lost 6lb.........now if I can keep this up, when I go to my frinds sons wedding I should be 2 stone lighter...................now should I post a before and after photo here.................no not yet, maybe one day

I'm bloggin' again.......

It's been a while since my last blog so this is a quite a long blog. I started playing along with HS:MS on Monday so have a whole weeks woth of photos for you to go through......if you have the stamina to get you to the end of this blog please leave a comment.

A big family gathering with plenty of photo opportunities and who forgot her camera? Shame on me :(

Last night we went to my OH uncle Jims 80th birthday party, a large family afair. I really enjoyed seeing my OH's family members that we only ever get to see at these events. My healthy eating plan went right oot the window, I just had to have a few brandy and lemonades and managed to munch my way through a large plate of food from the buffet table. Oh well!! I'll start healthy eating again tomorrow. The highlight of the evening was a short film show of Jims life from 1928 to today, we couldn't have a party in Scotland without a piper who played a medlay of traditional Scottish songs.

SOS (show off Sunday)

I took this in October when me and my OH went on a wee break to Ayr. I would love to have a go at this sport, even though it was a cold windy day it looks so much fun. I don't even know what it is called.

SPS

The dreaded SPS (self portrait Saturday), the first one I've done for ages, so I must slowly ease myself back into this. Just a tiny bit of me this week, I'm showing off my first ever professional French Manicure.........not a great photo, a bit grainy. My daughter gave me a voucher at Christmas to get my nails done as I usually just do them myself, when I can be bothered!!! It was quite a treat, but to be honest I just don't have the time to sit and have a manicure very often, and I'd rather spend the money on craft stuff!!! Life is far too short to be worrying about my nails, I've too much other stuff to get on with,
thanks S-J it was a really nice thought :) and they do look great......

DangleTo hang or swing loosely. Find 'dangle' in your space today.

Number
An arithmetical value expressed by a word, symbol or figure. Show us a 'number' in your space today!

Just a quik photo today, which I wasn't happy with so I had a wee play with it in photoshop....

Indulge
To allow oneself to enjoy a pleasure....

Now I'm not a big chocolate fan (I'd rather have crisps) but my daughter won this box of choccies in a raffle at her work and she shared them with the family, so I did indulge in a few of them :) and they were quite yummy........

Away
To go at a distance from a specified thing, place or person. Show us 'away' in your space today.

A bit of a cheat this one....... this photo was taken in 2004 when out for a walk near Braefoot Bay. OH and dogs walking 'away' from me 'cause I was too busy takin' photos of anything and everything as usual.

CD

The world is awash with them - music, images, movies. Show us CD's in your space!.......

Here's the CD's on my computer desk, which I have given a well needed tidy and clean, so now I can actually see some of the desk.

Some ATC's that I have made for SSUP and Willow Design Swaps. It is a shame that Angela is having to close her SSUP online craft shop as her local post office has been closed, but she is hoping to keep the ATC swap going as long as she has enough people interested. Angela's blog is here if you would like to pop in for a visit.

The SSUP swap for January is New Year/Resolutions.....now I'm not normally someone that would make a New Years Resolution as I never keep them, but while thinking about what I was going to do for my ATC's I thought I might as well make a resolution this year and see just how long I could keep it up. Then silly me ended up making 2 resolutions, the first one 'to ride my bike more' which is easy enough, it's just walking to the shed to get the bike out that I find hard. I will eventually make the journey to the shed and then I will start riding my bike to work and the shops again. Now the second resolution 'to learn to belly dance' is just going to end up in laughs and maybe a visit to A & E. I want to do this for the exercise and fun of it, but so far have not been able to find a local class. With the wonders of the internet I am now waiting on my 'Learn to Belly Dance' DVD to arrive. This I know will cause much hilarity in my house and will most probably end up in the cupboard with all my other keep-fit/dance yourself fit DVD's.

Before Christmas I treated myself to 2 new stamps, I just love these girls. I haven't had much time to play with them, but here's 2 of the cards I have made so far........

A quick and simple card using peel-offs (which I'm not really a great fan of) and a small photo of the Forth Bridge, which I took with my very first digital camera about 7 years ago. It's hard now a days to get a photo of the Forth Bridge without the blocks of scaffolding and white sheeting that is in place to protect the workmen and painters.

Well done to anyone who has made it this far down my blog........ you will be pleased to know this is the end. :) xx

I've been a bad bad blogger, had ups and downs in ma life lately and just a lot of work on. I'm hoping to be a better blogger soon though and get back into the HS:MS photos again.

Green, Yellow, Orange

Yippeeeee!!! This afternoon my OH and my youngest son have started to insulate my summerhouse craft room. I think they are only doing it so they can get me out of the house and take control of the telly LOL :-) ... but I don't care 'cause once it's warm in my craft room I will get peace to craft away. I've got an old table in there the noo, but OH is talking about getting a piece of worktop to make me a full length desk and putting a wee shelf up for my CD player and speakers. OH and son have even got me a portable TV/DVD that I can have up there too.... now if he puts a bed in there I will really feel like they want rid of me. LOL :-0

OOOO I'm getting so excited once the walls are done I will have to give them a lick of paint before I can start crafting. It will be my own wee domain, I'll be able to put what I want on the walls, and even leave it in a crafting mess when I'm in the middle of some creation. Now some people would think I'm sad for getting so excited about a craft room, but I think all crafters will understand the need for that wee place to let their inspiration flow.

Now for my Her Space:My Space photos.....................

Green
Next to Yellow in the rainbow is Green. Show us Green in your space...........

Yellow
Our Rainbow theme takes us on to Yellow - Bright, cheery, sunny. Show us yellow in your space

OH was off work today (Tuesday) so we went for a run in the car up Crieff way........ a well needed countryside fix...... we stumbled upon Drummond Castle Gardens .............. How can you stumble upon a castle??? well we didn't know it was there until we saw the sign, so we decided to take a wee peek. Once we went down the tree lined drive to the castle it cost us £4 each to walk round the gardens. I would say it was well worth money and I will have to go back again in the summer to see it all in full bloom. My youngest son even enjoyed it and he took loads of photos for his college assignment.

more than a week blog!!!

The once a week blogger is back and it has been more than a week now since I blogged. I'm on holiday this week, but will that make me a better everyday blogger .... I don't think so!!! I am just not organised enough and I always have so much to do ......... :) So this is a bit of a long blog entry, one of the longest I've ever done.
At last that rare species ... a postman ... has just been to my door, yippppeeee it is my new quick battery charger and more batteries. So I should never again be heard screaming cause I've no batteries for my camera. Still waiting on a rubber stamp getting delivered, oh well the postman might venture out again tomorrow :)

Red

Show us something in Red in your space....

Off work and supposed to be giving my bedroom a good clear out, but I have been side tracked by HS:MS (well it is more fun than housework). I found a red rope light in my bedroom so I just had to use that for todays prompt. Now I don't know what I did to get this photos 'cause I took loads and was just fiddling about with the settings on ma camera. It is sitting on a white duvet so how did the background go black????? I still have so much to learn about my camera and photography .... I'm just a happy snapper :)

SOS ....... so show off Sunday has come around again....

My sunday afternoon was spent in a freezing cold field watching my 2 brothers, my niece and nephew race at the Autograss Racing. It was a day to remember as my niece had her first race win and my nephew became Junior Champion. It was the last meeting of the season, so they have 4 months now to get their cars ready for the next season. I really enjoy watching them race it can get very exciting and scarey at times. So my SOS this week is my nephew Scott in CS11 whizzing passed me.

I thought I would show off this one too...... :)

And here he is ..... Scott the Central Scotland Junior Champion ....... well done Scott :)

SPSHere we go...more self portraits! Have some fun doing them!!!

No more dark roots...... I eventually got round to dying my hair ... I've gone slightly darker with a reddish tinge and silly me has thrown the box out so I won't know what colour it is when I have to touch it up. This is also the first SPS that I have taken with my glasses on.....

Thursday was a sad day as the last pup went off to his new home, he has gone to live in East Sussex. I hope he travels well, he's got a good 400 miles to go. It's strange around our house without pups, so quiet, no wee pups to play with, no wee pups to feed. Every year I think to myself I'm not having pups again 'cause I get upset when they go. Then when it's time for Fearne to mate I get all excited about having a litter of pups again and I forget about all the work and the nights of broken sleep and the heartache when the pups leave ..... and I go through it all again!!!! I must be mad
Wednesday there was a buzz of excitement at my work (I work part-time at a sheltered housing court), two of the tenants were celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary. Harry and Joan have been married for 60 years, what an achievement, they were so excited and they had arranged a party in the evening for all their friends and family. During the day there was a presentation and the local press was there. After taking photos of just Harry and Joan the press photographer thought it would be good to get a group photo of the happy couple and other tenants and staff of the court. Well I tried to hide behind someone....I hate being in photos...the photographer was having none of that!!!! He told me to stand behind the seated happy couple and in between the 2 dignatories who had done the presentation....then he happily snapped away. Now I am dreading seeing the local paper in case he has used one of the group shots..... keeping my fingers crossed it is just the happy couple in the paper.

Now for my Her Space : My Space photos... been soo busy had to leave a few out again

GameA form of play or sport. find 'game' in your space today......

StepsA series of flat surfaces to enable movement from one level to another. Find 'steps' in your space today.......

These are the steps that lead from my decking up to the summerhouse aka my craft room which is in need of being insulated so I can use it through the winter without getting frost bite.

AutumnThe third season of the year. Show us 'Autumn' in your space today......

The hawthorn hedge at the end of my garden is laden with berries, not for long though as the birds soon munch their way through them all.

SPS, SOS & ATC's

SOS
When my oldest son was younger he wanted a telescope for christmas so he could see the stars. He got his telescope and I spent many a chilly night in the back garden looking at, and teaching him about the stars, planets and our moon. This was all before I had the internet, so I was always in the local library borrowing books on astronomy. If I'm out on a clear night I still look up to see the stars and the moon and they bring back happy memories of my son. I took this photo one morning when I opened my bedroom blinds and there was a near full moon in a blue morning sky. aaahhhh memories

SPS
I'm still not comfortable with taking photos of myself, but I suppose the more I do it the easier it will get. So this week it's my eyes ..... my daughter is always telling me to do something with my eyebrows and looking at this photo I think she is right. I still haven't dyed my hair to cover up my dark roots, maybe the next SPS photo will have my new hair colour!!!

Below are the ATC's which I made for September Swaps for Willow Designs and SSUP, they are Shakespeare, Friends and Falling Leaves.

SPS and catch up again!!!

Well I've been a very bad bad blogger again, so have been playing catch up again with my photos for HS:MS...... I've missed a few out

Card
A Piece of thick, stiff paper. Find 'card' in your space today.

WheelA circular object that revolves on an axle. Find a wheel in your space today.

The old mangle in my garden

SOS ... Sunday, September 30, 2007

SPS ..... Saturday, September 29, 2007...... Not a great photo, done in a rush............ my dark roots are coming through and I feel the need for a wee change in colour ........... but what colour? (I've been to the shops twice this week to buy dye and forgot to get it both times, I'd forget my head if it wasn't screwed on) LOL

CushionSoft furnishing to adorn a chair. Show us cushion in your space.

JugA container from which eases the pouring of liquid. Show us your jugs! A-hem.

I've had this jug for about 12 years now and it has never been used as a jug, it always has flowers in it. I remember when I bought it from Marks & Spencers it cost me £10, which I thought was a lot of money for a jug. Well I couldn't have felt that guilty about buying it 'cause I bought the large matching bowl, which was £10 too, and that is always filled with fruit.

SpongeA natural (often man made!) material to soak up liquids. Show us a sponge in your space......

Couldn't find a sponge in my house today..... hunted high and low. All I could come up with was my 23 year old daughters Spongebob Squarepants tin. She just loves him!!! :-)

DogMan's best friend. Have you got a lil pooch in your space?

Well this was an easy one, the only trouble was which dog to use....... so here are a few of the dogs in my space today!!!! :)

Our house is starting to get back to near normal now that 5 of the pups have gone to their new homes. The last pup has a potential home lined up, but he is off to the vets again today just to make sure his wee heart murmur has gone.
