Green, Yellow, Orange

Yippeeeee!!! This afternoon my OH and my youngest son have started to insulate my summerhouse craft room. I think they are only doing it so they can get me out of the house and take control of the telly LOL :-) ... but I don't care 'cause once it's warm in my craft room I will get peace to craft away. I've got an old table in there the noo, but OH is talking about getting a piece of worktop to make me a full length desk and putting a wee shelf up for my CD player and speakers. OH and son have even got me a portable TV/DVD that I can have up there too.... now if he puts a bed in there I will really feel like they want rid of me. LOL :-0

OOOO I'm getting so excited once the walls are done I will have to give them a lick of paint before I can start crafting. It will be my own wee domain, I'll be able to put what I want on the walls, and even leave it in a crafting mess when I'm in the middle of some creation. Now some people would think I'm sad for getting so excited about a craft room, but I think all crafters will understand the need for that wee place to let their inspiration flow.

Now for my Her Space:My Space photos.....................

OH was off work today (Tuesday) so we went for a run in the car up Crieff way........ a well needed countryside fix...... we stumbled upon Drummond Castle Gardens .............. How can you stumble upon a castle??? well we didn't know it was there until we saw the sign, so we decided to take a wee peek. Once we went down the tree lined drive to the castle it cost us £4 each to walk round the gardens. I would say it was well worth money and I will have to go back again in the summer to see it all in full bloom. My youngest son even enjoyed it and he took loads of photos for his college assignment.

more than a week blog!!!

The once a week blogger is back and it has been more than a week now since I blogged. I'm on holiday this week, but will that make me a better everyday blogger .... I don't think so!!! I am just not organised enough and I always have so much to do ......... :) So this is a bit of a long blog entry, one of the longest I've ever done.
At last that rare species ... a postman ... has just been to my door, yippppeeee it is my new quick battery charger and more batteries. So I should never again be heard screaming cause I've no batteries for my camera. Still waiting on a rubber stamp getting delivered, oh well the postman might venture out again tomorrow :)

Red

Show us something in Red in your space....

Off work and supposed to be giving my bedroom a good clear out, but I have been side tracked by HS:MS (well it is more fun than housework). I found a red rope light in my bedroom so I just had to use that for todays prompt. Now I don't know what I did to get this photos 'cause I took loads and was just fiddling about with the settings on ma camera. It is sitting on a white duvet so how did the background go black????? I still have so much to learn about my camera and photography .... I'm just a happy snapper :)

SOS ....... so show off Sunday has come around again....

My sunday afternoon was spent in a freezing cold field watching my 2 brothers, my niece and nephew race at the Autograss Racing. It was a day to remember as my niece had her first race win and my nephew became Junior Champion. It was the last meeting of the season, so they have 4 months now to get their cars ready for the next season. I really enjoy watching them race it can get very exciting and scarey at times. So my SOS this week is my nephew Scott in CS11 whizzing passed me.

I thought I would show off this one too...... :)

And here he is ..... Scott the Central Scotland Junior Champion ....... well done Scott :)

SPSHere we go...more self portraits! Have some fun doing them!!!

No more dark roots...... I eventually got round to dying my hair ... I've gone slightly darker with a reddish tinge and silly me has thrown the box out so I won't know what colour it is when I have to touch it up. This is also the first SPS that I have taken with my glasses on.....

Thursday was a sad day as the last pup went off to his new home, he has gone to live in East Sussex. I hope he travels well, he's got a good 400 miles to go. It's strange around our house without pups, so quiet, no wee pups to play with, no wee pups to feed. Every year I think to myself I'm not having pups again 'cause I get upset when they go. Then when it's time for Fearne to mate I get all excited about having a litter of pups again and I forget about all the work and the nights of broken sleep and the heartache when the pups leave ..... and I go through it all again!!!! I must be mad
Wednesday there was a buzz of excitement at my work (I work part-time at a sheltered housing court), two of the tenants were celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary. Harry and Joan have been married for 60 years, what an achievement, they were so excited and they had arranged a party in the evening for all their friends and family. During the day there was a presentation and the local press was there. After taking photos of just Harry and Joan the press photographer thought it would be good to get a group photo of the happy couple and other tenants and staff of the court. Well I tried to hide behind someone....I hate being in photos...the photographer was having none of that!!!! He told me to stand behind the seated happy couple and in between the 2 dignatories who had done the presentation....then he happily snapped away. Now I am dreading seeing the local paper in case he has used one of the group shots..... keeping my fingers crossed it is just the happy couple in the paper.

Now for my Her Space : My Space photos... been soo busy had to leave a few out again

GameA form of play or sport. find 'game' in your space today......

StepsA series of flat surfaces to enable movement from one level to another. Find 'steps' in your space today.......

These are the steps that lead from my decking up to the summerhouse aka my craft room which is in need of being insulated so I can use it through the winter without getting frost bite.

AutumnThe third season of the year. Show us 'Autumn' in your space today......

The hawthorn hedge at the end of my garden is laden with berries, not for long though as the birds soon munch their way through them all.

SPS, SOS & ATC's

SOS
When my oldest son was younger he wanted a telescope for christmas so he could see the stars. He got his telescope and I spent many a chilly night in the back garden looking at, and teaching him about the stars, planets and our moon. This was all before I had the internet, so I was always in the local library borrowing books on astronomy. If I'm out on a clear night I still look up to see the stars and the moon and they bring back happy memories of my son. I took this photo one morning when I opened my bedroom blinds and there was a near full moon in a blue morning sky. aaahhhh memories

SPS
I'm still not comfortable with taking photos of myself, but I suppose the more I do it the easier it will get. So this week it's my eyes ..... my daughter is always telling me to do something with my eyebrows and looking at this photo I think she is right. I still haven't dyed my hair to cover up my dark roots, maybe the next SPS photo will have my new hair colour!!!

Below are the ATC's which I made for September Swaps for Willow Designs and SSUP, they are Shakespeare, Friends and Falling Leaves.

SPS and catch up again!!!

Well I've been a very bad bad blogger again, so have been playing catch up again with my photos for HS:MS...... I've missed a few out

Card
A Piece of thick, stiff paper. Find 'card' in your space today.

WheelA circular object that revolves on an axle. Find a wheel in your space today.

The old mangle in my garden

SOS ... Sunday, September 30, 2007

SPS ..... Saturday, September 29, 2007...... Not a great photo, done in a rush............ my dark roots are coming through and I feel the need for a wee change in colour ........... but what colour? (I've been to the shops twice this week to buy dye and forgot to get it both times, I'd forget my head if it wasn't screwed on) LOL

CushionSoft furnishing to adorn a chair. Show us cushion in your space.

JugA container from which eases the pouring of liquid. Show us your jugs! A-hem.

I've had this jug for about 12 years now and it has never been used as a jug, it always has flowers in it. I remember when I bought it from Marks & Spencers it cost me £10, which I thought was a lot of money for a jug. Well I couldn't have felt that guilty about buying it 'cause I bought the large matching bowl, which was £10 too, and that is always filled with fruit.

SpongeA natural (often man made!) material to soak up liquids. Show us a sponge in your space......

Couldn't find a sponge in my house today..... hunted high and low. All I could come up with was my 23 year old daughters Spongebob Squarepants tin. She just loves him!!! :-)

DogMan's best friend. Have you got a lil pooch in your space?

Well this was an easy one, the only trouble was which dog to use....... so here are a few of the dogs in my space today!!!! :)

Our house is starting to get back to near normal now that 5 of the pups have gone to their new homes. The last pup has a potential home lined up, but he is off to the vets again today just to make sure his wee heart murmur has gone.

SOS

SOS or Show off Sunday is here again.. yippppeeee!!!

This week I treated myself to some close up lenses for my camera so yesterday I was in the garden having a wee play around at snapping almost anything and everything. I still have a awful lot to learn about photography, but I was quite pleased with some of the shots that I had taken.

I have a deep fear of spiders, but could not resist taking a few shots of a spider that has been making its web in my front garden everyday for a few weeks now. But my neighbour, Paul, who knows of my fear thought it would be funny to break the web and freak me out. Shaking with fear I really don't know how I managed to steady the camera to get my shot!!! The poor spider is holding on by a thread and clinging desperatley to its dinner which it had just wrapped up :)

My children and their friends have always called this type of spider a Sugar Puff Spider because of its fat body.

So here is the Sugar Puff Spider that lives in my garden

****WARNING*** if you suffer from aracnophobia go no furthur :)

So heres my offering for this weeks SPS, you've seen ma fizzog a couple of times now so here's a different piece of me :) and in colour too!!

SOS, SPS and big catch up!!!!

Oh!!! I'm such a bad blogger, I'm just a once a week blogger. Every week I start off with the best intentions of updating my blog daily, but I just never get round to it. I take my HS:MS photos daily (I'm so addicted to this and still so much to learn about photography) and most of the time these are put onto my computer daily, but I just never seem to get time to add them to my blog. I know it wouldn't take much time but there is always something else that needs done.......I really must try and get more organised. So here is a full week of HS:MS photos.

S.O.SShow it off Sunday....Let's see!!!!!
Couldn't think what to put here this week so had a good look through some old photos, there were a few contenders, but I decided on this one, just because of the memories which it brought back...aaahhh the memories
This photo was taken a few years ago, when I got my first digital camera. It was a beautiful sunny day when my husband, my 2 sons, my 2 dogs and I walked the coastal path at Crail, this is Buzz and Zak

Self Portrait SaturdayTake the opportunity once a week to practise your portrait skills and make a record of your changing self........

It's that dreaded day again!!! it has come round so quickly. I awoke on Saturday with an upset stomach, feeling sick and spent most of my time on the toilet....maybe a bit too much information for some folk :-) Anyway as I was feeling so rough I thought this was the ideal opportunity for everyone to see me at my worst, so hopefully any SPS from now on can only get better......So here I am just out of the shower and no make up

ChewTo bite and grind with the teeth. Find 'chew' in your space today.......

Dish
A shallow bowl or radio antenna. Find 'dish' in your space......

This blue dish used to be my grans and I love the way the sun shines through it so it sits on my kitchen window sill with some glass pebbles in it.

CloudA mass of water vapour. Show us 'cloud' in your space today........
This was Wednesdays prompt and it was so grey and overcast I thought I would never get a photo of a cloud. Then late afternoon part of the sky brightened up a bit, just enough to make the clouds visible. Not great clouds but this all I could get on this day!!!!

AppleA red or green fruit from a tree. Show us 'apple' in your space today.........

So what did I do with my peeled apples? I made apple and sultana crumble, which we had hot with ice-cream.....yum yumm!!!!

Sun
An object that gives light and warmth. Find 'sun' in your space today..........
This was the only sun in my space today!!!!

This months ATC calendar swap for Willow Designs was Back To School and for a change I was really organised. I made these ATC's a couple of months ago.....

Well being orgainsed didn't last long as I was rushing at the last minute to get my Space ATC's done in time, and I even had a few extra days as the Swap Host was on holiday. Now I like Star Trek, but I'm not a fully fledged Trekkie, so it was Star Trek Space ships that feature on my ATC's. I made the space background by flicking white acrylic paint and irridesant blue and red H2O's onto black card. The text has also been painted over in the irridesant blue and red so that it shimmers. The space ship images are from the internet and resized to fit and stuck on with foam pads so they are slightly raised. Then a silver star was also added to each one just to finish them off.
I'm now waiting patiently for the posty to pop my swaps through the letter box to add to my growing collection. I had to miss out on the SSUP swap this month, I just didn't have the time, but I've already started to think about what I am going to do for this months ATC's.

The pups are al l doing well, they were 5 weeks old this week. I advertised the pups this week and so far one of the bitches has been sold. Just got to find homes for the other 5 now....I will have to update the dogs website today with some more photos and videos.

Show Off Sunday

What will Anita and Kirsty come up with next?....today is Show Off Sunday or SOS :-) ooooo wot fun
Having realised that I had not published my post on Friday as I didn't have all my photos on it, I have been able to think about Sundays prompt while catching up (yet again!!). So Fridays and Saturdays photos are up..but what to do for today?

There is one photo that totally lifts my heart when I see it, not the greatest of photos (not happy with the background, but I am trying to learn). It is my grandson, Kian, taken a few weeks ago now on a sunny afternoon, when we were playing out in the garden with a tea set. We had such fun....it was a happy day and I just love him to bits ........ Oooops!!! Just realised I've had this photo on an early post, so this could be me having a wee cheat just so I can catch up. :-)

We've got hot water again

Yipppppeeee our new boiler was installed yesterday (Friday) so we have hot water again. I can't believe how excited I can get over just having hot water coming out of my taps.

I went out to see to the pups this morning and I don 't know what happened or how I did it, but I fell oot the back door and landed in a heap. I didn't know whether to greet (cry) or laugh so I just did both till my OH came and picked me up. boooo hooooo hahaha boooo hoooo hahaha hahahah :-O I was lucky I never skint ma knees, I just seem to have pulled ma muscles in my legs.... so I am walking kinda funny. :-)

HS:MS has totally freaked me out today (Saturday), they have decided that it is Self Portrait Saturday...oh no a photo of me!!!!!!! ..... I hate having my photo taken thats why I hide behind the camera taking everyone elses photo. I had to get the manual out (still learning) to see how to use the self timer and played around a bit taking some very scarey shots of myself. Not a great shot but it is the least scariest and it definately looks better in black and white than in colour. Thank goodness for PhotoShop :-)

HS:MS are going to expect a SPS (self portrait saturday) every Saturday, to see how we all change and improve on our photography ... so every weekend there will be yet another scarey photo of ma fizzog!!!! :-) So be warned this weeks wasnae to bad, but if you have a weak stomach beware of Saturdays blogs from now on :-)

StoneA hard solid mineral. Show us 'stone' in your space today.......
St Margarets Stone, tradtition says that Queen Margaret wife of King Malcolm Canmore of Scotland would sit on this stone to rest on her way to Dunfermline, some say she would sit here and wait for those in need of her help. The stone used to be on Queensferry Road between Rosyth and Dunfermline, but has since been moved slightly and has now been made into a seat on the road leading into an industrial estate. I wonder how Queen Margaret would feel about that!!!!

WhiteThe palest colour and sign of purity. Find 'white' in your space today......
Oooooo I wish this was ma hoose :-) we can all have oor dreams

Friend
A person you know particularly well. Show us 'friend' in your space today......
Well this is my OH, Colin (he doesn't know I've put him on here). We have been together for 27 years and will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary next year ..... so I think I know him quite well. If you look closely you can see my dog, Buzz, who is also my friend reflected in Colins sunglasses on the left hand side (didn't notice him there till I was cropping the photo)....and yeah! thats my body reflected on the right hand side...... ooops I will have to practise a bit more.
